The Vice President for Academic Affairs & Technology Transfer serves as the chief academic officer of the Louisiana State University System, reporting directly to t he System President. Duties include coordination of the undergraduate, graduate and professional programs, activities and divisions of the University System. In addition to developing System-wide academic policies, the Vice President for Academic Affairs reviews academic personnel actions such as tenure review and promotion, and makes recommendations on the naming of chaired professorships, changes in academic programs, resolves student and faculty grievances and makes recommendations on the termination for cause of any member of the academic staff of the University System. Coordination of technology transfer efforts at all LSU System campuses is also among duties of the Academic Affairs Vice President. That role encompasses the establishment of procedures to promote the rapid and efficient transfer of technology to the private sector, maximizing the University’s income from this source of funding.
